If you’ve followed this blog you’ll have read about the “3rd party” contract award system PennDOT moved to in 2020 as part of a short-lived restart to provide training at the end of 2020 but will be in full effect in 2021. This practice will effectively end the +30yr PA Motorcycle Safety Program’s single vendor/single curriculum system.
While the complete list of awards has not yet been published by PennDOT below is an as yet unverified list of sites and what vendor was awarded them for the 2021-2026 seasons. If you have any updates please send them to info@pamotorcyclist.com.
Fewer sites are planned in 2021:
There are 13 fewer sites planned for 2021 than existed in the site list at the start of 2020, ~34 sites less than were planned to be opened in 2020. In 2014 there were 73 sites and as such in 2021 there will be 27 fewer sites than 6 years ago, a nearly 37% reduction, and nearly 44% fewer sites than the 82 sites that were planned for 2020.
